Statement: I believe in community service- to give back more than you get. As I approach retirement from my day-to-day job responsibilities, I have looked for another avenue to give back locally. Based upon my experience in nonprofit administration, boardsmanship on state level organizations, and government and nonprofit finance I find that I have the qualifications necessary to successfully serve as a commissioner for a public hospital.
From the pension board I have learned much about the consumer side of medical care, from my work teaching with state audit staff I have become very familiar with financial reporting standards, and from my service to statewide boards I have learned about the communication and collaboration necessary to be a contributing member of governing group.
