The deadline to withdraw for the 2021 Primary and General Election is Monday May 24, 2021 by 4:30 p.m.
A Declaration of Candidacy may be withdrawn by submitting a written request for withdrawal to the Election Office by May 24th deadline. If this deadline is missed, you cannot receive an extension. Filing fees are non-refundable.
The online filing tool will give you step-by-step instructions, email you a confirmation of your filing, alert you when other candidates file in your race, and provide a link to submit your voters’ pamphlet statement and photo. You will also receive a separate email from the Public Disclosure Commission (PDC) for your public disclosure filing.
Per RCW 29A.36.131 the order in which a candidate's name appears on the ballot is determined by lot draw, not by the order of candidate filing.
